Rocky Mountaineers Memorial Scholarship Fund

** You must be a high school senior and have a Rocky Mountaineer sponsor. **

To apply, prepare the following:

1. Complete the attached application form.
2. Prepare a typewritten personal letter describing (Word is the preferred document format):
   1. Your career goals and plans for advanced education.
   2. Interests, school activities, and other community and/or volunteer experiences. 
   3. Include a statement about what you plan to accomplish in your chosen career.
   4. Describe why you think National Forests and public lands in general are important from a resource, environmental, and/or social point of view.
   5. The importance of having this support for your education (including financial considerations).

Please limit the letter 750 words single spaced.

3. Attach any optional letters of recommendation.

Applications must be received no later than March 31, 2024.   A selection committee will evaluate the applications and award the scholarship by May 20, 2024. 

The scholarship stipend for 2024 will be $1,500. Scholarship money will be paid directly to the student’s chosen educational institution upon proof of matriculation (i.e., a registration receipt) after graduation from high school. 

If one of the selected winners plans change and they do not attend college the scholarship will be awarded to another applicant who had a valid application but was originally not selected.
